I've never blogged before but I thought a blog might be a good, easy way for us, family, to communicate with each other. I hope it will work that everyone can and will add to it and not just me.
So here's an initial attempt.
History:
Year ago ( in the early 1960s) mother created a family newsletter called Nichols News Weakly.
She mimeographed them by hand and sent out about 20 copies to family members -when we were all in college. It became popular not only with family members but also with friends of ours.
What a long technological distance from mimeographing to blogging, but the spirit of the newsletter remains--a way to communicate with loved ones, all at the same time, who live in numerous states.

I just returned from a wonderful 3 week trip to NY and Michigan where I saw two very close friends.
Carolyn , my "niece" graduated from Albany ( NY) Medical School.
Cassie became ordained as a pastor in Kalamazoo, MI.
I explored lots in both areas--more details later.
In NYC I saw the now Tony awarded, best musical on Broadway, The Book of Mormon. Very funny! definitely "explicit" language ( as stated on the entrance ticket)
Jack Nicholson was in the audience too.
News from other family members:
Kate just took a trip to the Amazon and the Galapagos.
Fred and Edie took a trip to TX to look at birds--it was a retirement gift from the Data Center.
Fred retired in November --Edie, Harriet,Charlie and Kate plus many more attended the grand party..
Shauna and Todd spent time in the Ukraine.
Todd and Mackenzie spent time in London.
